Rebranding of Arkitema
Arkitema was founded in 1969 in Aarhus by five architectural students. Today, it is one of the largest architecture companies in Scandinavia with 650+ employees in Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
Need
Paired with Urgent Agency, my task was to rebrand Arkitema’s visual identity. The new visual identity had to reflect Arkitema’s focus on co-creation, its new size and international profile and put their architecture imagery in focus.
Result
- logo with connecting dots which unite Arkitema with partners, themes, images, messages, etc.
- layout based on large images and large typography
- warm scandinavian colour palette
I was responsible for development of an online and offline design guide, digital and print templates, corporate stationary, short animations, merchandise and office decoration. In addition, I was involved in creating a new website for Arkitema as well as their new intranet.
Arkitema’s DNA focuses on co-creation with the users, partners, and colleagues. The connecting dots in the logo are a visual manifestation of that promise, and they unite Arkitema with partners, themes, images, messages, etc.
The colour palette reflects the warmth and humanistic mindset of Arkitema.
Arkitemas is today part of COWI Group. Therefore, shortly after rebranding Arkitema, my work got extended to also include co-branding of the two brands Arkitema and COWI used when they collaborate on a project.
